Do you enjoy opera? Are you curious about the birth of opera and why it is mostly Italian? Would you like to hear a synopsis of the evolution of the Italian melodramma, while listening to its beautiful music? Does a no stress environment where you can get the feel of how the voice is trained and sing in a choir type setting one of the most famous Italian songs – Verdi’s “Va pensiero” intrigue you?

Then come and follow this fun, interactive, ‘no homework’ class!’

The first class will be Sunday 30 of April afternoon at 3pm; other 3 classes will follow on weekly basis for a total of 4 encounters (5/7, 5/14 and 5/21). There is a suggested $5 contribution per class to recover part of the costs.

 Lianka Bedeschi Lianka Bedeschi, the lecturer, is an Italian professional classical singer. She obtained her diploma in Music Performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Academy of Music in Milan in 2012. Since graduation she remained in Italy and she sang in recitals and theatrical shows while she taught classical singing and music classes. In addition, she  created and produced a lyric show. Since relocating to Chicago she began studies with the renown performer and pedagogue Maria Lagios.
